Beers like Bullets is the story of a broken man, a man who lost himself and didn’t know who he was anymore. He drank alcohol to not feel anything anymore. He just wanted the pain to stop. he hardly left the house only to go to work, never socialised and everyday was the same routine. Finish work drink till he passed out then go to work. He smiled everyday and no one knew the extent of how dark of a place he really was really in. The beers were like the bullets he chose to use, to end every day to the point of sometimes blacking out. After a few years of this he looked in the mirror and decided he needed to quit drinking. It wasn’t solving the problem like he thought it would anymore, the mental scars and pictures were still there and they weren’t going away and alcohol just became a new problem. After writing this song, It would take 12 long months and many relapses to finally just get the addition just under control. This song was the turning point in that man’s life and That broken man was me.
